Saint Anthony Feast generally referred to as “The Feast of All Feasts” occurs on the weekend of the last Sunday of August every year in the North End of Boston.
Its the time when people of the North End honor their patrons Saint Anthony and Saint Lucy with colorful parades, religious services, strolling singers, live entertainment and of course an abundance of great Italian and American food.
The highlight of the Saint Anthony Feast is the 10 hour procession of the Statue of Saint Anthony through the streets of the North End accompanied by devotees along with many marching bands and floats. The Statue of the Saint returns to his chapel as confetti and streamers cascade from the rooftops.
During this festival, visitors enjoy eating the best Italian food seved on the streets on around hundreds of pushcarts serving all types of arancini, sausage peppers & onion, quahogs, calamari, pizza, pasta and of course zeppole, cannoli and gelato. Isnt it mouth watering.
When is Saint Anthony Feast in 2017 :
In 2017, Saint Anthony Feast will happen on 24 to 27 August 2017. This is the 98th Anniversary of the Italian Religious Street Festival in honor of Saint Anthony Di Padua Da Montefalcione.
Saint Anthony Feast 2017 Schedule :
Opening ceremony of the feast will take place on August 24th at 7:00 pm local time.
A full lineup of entertainment is planned including La Bande Itamia, Marc Antonio, La Bande Ambrosiani and Seabreeze featuring Stephen Savio.
On Sunday, August 27th, the Grand Procession of Saint Anthony will start at noon and continue for 10 hours.
