Ganesh Idol of Azad Nagar Sarvajanik Utsav Samitee Ganeshotsav, Ganpati in western suburb of Mumbai, popularly known as Andheri Cha Raja is another famous Ganesh Idol in Mumbai.
Like Lalbaugcha Raja, this Ganesh idol is also Navsala Pavnara Ganpati i.e., fulfiller of the wishes, hence lakhs of people visit this Ganesh Mandal during Ganesh Chaturthi.
This Ganesh idol is also very famous amongst celebrities. Many film stars visit this Ganesh Pandal to seek blessings of Lord Ganesha.
Azad Nagar Sarvajanik Utsav Samitee was established way back in the year 1966 by the blue collared workers of golden Tobacco company, Tata Special Steel and Excel Industries Ltd, who moved from the Lalbaug, Parel and settled in Andheri west, Azad Nagar M.H.B Colony, closer to their factories in which they worked.
M.K. Menon, Tukaram Salaskar, Vasudev Kasalkar, etc. were the founder members who started this Ganeshotsav.
This Ganesh idol became popular in 1975 when when the existing Chairman of Samitee Shri Appa Khanvilkar whose wish was fulfilled by this Shri Ganpati, the Ganpati came to be known as “Navasala Pavnara Ganpati” (wish fulfilling Ganesha) who was also later known as”Andheri Cha Raja”(King of Andheri) by the entire Mumbai.
Another unique feature of this Ganesh Mandal is that the immersion of this Ganesh Idol is not done on Ananta Chaturdashi but is done on Sankashti Day after Ananta Chaturdashi. However a smaller version of the Samitee idol is immersed on a particular day called “Ananta Chaturdashi”.

In 2016, Ganesha Chaturthi will be celebrated on 5th September 2016 and Anant Chaturdashi will be celebrated on 15th September 2016.
