Eid al-Adha is an important religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorates the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to God, before God intervened to provide him with a sheep to sacrifice instead.
It is also known as Bakr-Id, Id-ul-Adha, Id-ul-Zuha, Feast of the Sacrifice or Greater Eid.
Eid al-Adha is celebrated annually on the 10th day of the Dhul Hijja month, the 12th month of the lunar Islamic calendar.
Eid al-Adha 2012 Dates / Eid al-Adha in Islamic Year 1433 :
Eid al-Adha in 2012 is on Friday, the 26th of October.
However in the Muslim Calendar (Islamic Calendar) a holiday begins on the sunset of the previous day, so Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Adha on the sunset of Thursday, the 25th of October.
The year 2012 is the Islamic Year 1433.
