Brooklyn Labor Day Carnival Parade 2018 Live on 3 September

Labor Day Carnival also known as West Indian Carnival or Brooklyn Labor Day Parade is an annual celebration held on the American Labor Day, in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York.

The West Indian-American Day Parade is the largest of its kind in North America, drawing crowds estimated between 1 and 3 million every year.

Some people claim that the Carnival has become New York’s largest cultural celebration – the biggest parade, street fair or festival in New York City.

The West Indian-American Day Carnival Association (WIADCA) has been the driving force behind the West Indian Carnival Parade.

The centerpiece of the Carnival is the extraordinarily colorful parade that makes its way down Eastern Parkway on Labor Day. Thousands of masqueraders dance their way along the Eastern Parkway wearing elaborate costume, crowded by millions of onlookers.

The Carnival also bringing together people from different Caribbean island nations under one umbrella, and demonstrating to the rest of the world the power and vibrancy of the peoples of the Caribbean.

West Indian Carnival in 2018 :

Since Labor Day falls on first Monday of September, it is obvious that Brooklyn West Indian Labor Day Carnival will be held on 4th September 2018.

This year, the West Indian American Day Parade & Carnival celebrates its 47th anniversary.
