Caribbean Carnival is the term used for a number of events that take place in many of the Caribbean islands annually.
The Caribbean’s Carnivals all have several common themes all originating from Trinidad and Tobago Carnival, based on folk lore, culture, religion and tradition.
Nearly every large city in America holds a Caribbean carnival, and most likely you can find a festival near you. Each city has its own unique style of Caribbean entertainment and activities, so it’s great to visit each one for a unique experience.

Caribbean Carnivals in United States :
Atlanta Carnival : Takes place in Atlanta city of Georgia State on the last weekend in May, usually falls on Memorial Day weekend.
Baltimore Carnival : Held every year in City of Baltimore, Maryland in second weekend of July in Druid Hill Park neighborhood.
Boston Carnival : Takes place on last Saturday in the month of August at Dorchester located in the neighborhood of Boston in Massachusetts.
Cambridge Carnival : Takes place on second Sunday in September in Kendall Square.
Chicago Carnival : Takes place on Third Saturday in August, on the Midway Plaisance in Chicago in Illinois in the confines of the University of Chicago Campus.
Austin Carnival : Carnaval Brasileiro takes place in first week of February in Austin, Texas.
Broward/Miami Caribbean Carnival : Takes place in second weekend in the month of October, Columbus Day weekend in Broward, Miami.
Houston Carnival : This Carnival takes place normally on the weekend around Fourth of July in Houstan, Texas.
Long Island Carnival : Takes place in Hempstead, Long Island on the weekend after Labor Day Carnival – Held in the New York State.
Minneapolis Carnival : Usually held the fourth weekend of July along West River Road right next to the Mississippi River.
New Orleans Carnival : In November, the bayou Bacchanal is held on the first Saturday in downtown and Armstrong Park.
Labor Day Carnival : Held in Brooklyn, along Eastern Parkway, with over 2.3 million visitors annually – New York, NY
Orlando Carnival : This is usually held the last weekend in May, which is typically Memorial Day weekend. Most recently been held at the Citrus Bowl.
Seattle Carnival : Pioneer Square, annual Fat Tuesday celebration.
PLU campus Carnival : Near Fat Tuesday – Tacoma, WA.
Tampa Caribbean Carnival : Usually held the beginning of June in St. Petersburg, FL (Greater Tampa Bay Area) at Vinoy Park. Recently moved for 2011 to Raymond James Stadium.
Virginia Carib Fest : Norfolk,VA – Virginia CaribFest in July 2nd weekend.
Washington D.C. Carnival : DC Caribbean Festival, usually between 16th June – 24th June every year.
Charleston Carifest Carnival : Third weekend in June (a week before DC Caribbean Festival).
