In Australia Santa Claus parades or Christmas pageants are parades held in some countries to celebrate the official opening of the Christmas season with the arrival of Santa Claus. The parades usually include themed floats, dancing or marching groups and bands playing Christmas songs.
In Australia there are three places where grand Christmas Parades take place they are in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
Myer Christmas Parade in Melbourne :
Myer Christmas Parade is an annual event held in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia organised by Myer department stores in conjunction with the City of Melbourne. Attracting a crowd of over 40,000, the parade commences at the top of Spring Street and ends outside Myer’s flagship Melbourne store on Bourke Street.

The Adelaide Christmas Pageant is a parade held annually in the South Australian capital of Adelaide. It is the largest event of its kind in the world, attracting crowds of over 400,000 and televised to millions more.
Beginning in 1933 as the John Martin’s Christmas Pageant, the event is staged in early November every year, usually on a Saturday morning.
