Dresden’s Christmas Market is also known as Striezelmarkt. It is Germany’s oldest Christmas Market organised since 1434 in the city center between the Frauenkirche and the culinary famous restaurant street of Münzgasse.
One can find most traditional Christmas gifts, toys, decorations and traditional hand made crafts.
The specialties of the Market are the world’s tallest Christmas pyramids, the world’s biggest nut cracker, smoking figures and candle holders from Erzgebirge Mountains, indigo-dyed printed textile products and pottery, gingerbread, filigree lace products, Herrenhut Advent stars, blown glass tree decorations, and of course specialties.
Among these the most important part is the Dresden Christstollen also known as ‘Striezel’.
