Kshamavani Diwas is the Forgiveness Day celebrated by the Digambara Jain community.
On this day Digambara Jains request forgiveness from each other for all offences committed.
On this day people greet each other saying …
खम्मामि सव्व जीवेषु सव्वे जीवा खमन्तु में, मित्ति में सव्व भू ए सू वैरम् मज्झणम् केण वि |
Khämemi Savve Jivä, Savve Jivä Khamantu Mi Mitti Me Savva bhuesu, Veram majjham na Kenai.
The ten-day celebrations pertaining to the ten universal supreme virtues (Das Lakshan) culminates with Kshamavani Diwas, the annual forgiveness day.
In 2014, Das Lakshan Festival will be celebrated from from 30th August to 8th September 2014 and Kshamavani Diwas will be celebrated on 9th September 2014.
