Nikadvari Lane Sarvajanik Ganesh Mandal’s Ganesh Idol is a another popular Ganesh Idol of Mumbai, famous for its 25-feet long eco-friendly Ganpati idol.
This idol is popularly known as Girgaoncha Raja.
In 1938 Ramchandra Tendulkar started the Ganesh Utsav and the Patkar family has been making the Ganesh idols since its inception.
This is also a busy Ganesh idol with approximately 10 lakh visitors visiting this Ganesh Mandal during the festival.
This Ganesh Mandal also has a social organisation called Adhar, which adopts 200 homeless children every year and support their education and all other needs of life till they are independent.
Location: Nikadvari Lane, Khetwadi, Girgaum (south Mumbai).
Nearest Railway Station: The nearest stations are Charni Road and Sandhurst Road.
In 2016 Ganesha Chaturthi will be celebrated on 5th September and Anant Chaturdashi will be celebrated on 15th September 2016.
