Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna,
Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare
Hare Rama, Hare Rama,
Rama Rama, Hare Hare
This is the sublime mantra for reviving our Krishna consciousness.
The Hare Krishna mantra, also referred to reverentially as the Maha Mantra, is a 16-word Vaishnava mantra which first appeared in the Kali-Santarana Upanishad, and which from the 15th century rose to importance in the Bhakti movement following the teachings of Chaitanya Maha Prabhu. According to Gaudiya Vaishnava theology, one’s original consciousness and goal of life is pure love of Krishna.
