Ganesh Mantra - Sloka

Lord Ganesh, is also known Ganpati or Vinayaka or Vigneshwara. He is the elephant headed God and son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Lord Ganesha is blessed by all the God to the most superior of all the Gods. It is said before commencing any new thing it is fruitful to worship him.

There are certain Mantra’s and Sloka’s are in Sanskrit of Lord Ganesha that contains certain specific powers. When these mantras chanted with complete and proper sincere devotion, they will definitely yield good results. Their English Pronunciation and meaning along with a video is provided below.

Ganesh Beej Mantra Om Gam Ganapataye Namaah - ॐ गम गणपतये नमः”

Many scholars have described the significance of chanting Lord Ganesh’s mantra for 108 times on Ganesh Chaturthi. It is said that Ganesh mantras are chanted for getting intelligence, knowledge and wealth.

 वक्रतुण्ड महाकाय सुर्यकोटि समप्रभ

निर्विघ्नं कुरु मे देव सर्वकार्येषु सर्वदा

Vakra Tunndda Maha Kaaya Surya Kotti Samaprabha
Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva Sarva Kaaryessu Sarvadaa

Meaning of Mantra :

O curved trunk and large body Lord Ganesha with the brilliance of a million suns, please always make all my works free of obstacles.

ॐ श्रीम गम सौभाग्य गणपतये
वर्वर्द सर्वजन्म में वशमानय नमह 

Aum ShrIm Gam Saubhaagya Ganpataye
Varvard Sarvajanm Mein Vashamaanya Namah

Meaning of the Mantra -

The Beej Mantra  for Lord Ganesha is prosperity is based on the word, Gam. By this mantra we ask for good fortune and for blessings and wishes through our life. We bow in homage to Lord Ganesha who protects us from all evil and provides us with long healthy lives and happiness. This mantra can also be chanted as - “Om Gam Ganpataye Namah” for multiple rapid repetitions.
