In 2018, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on Thursday, 13th September 2018.
The Lalbaugcha Raja, King of Lalbaug, is undoubtedly the most famous Ganesha statue in Mumbai.
It is believed that this Ganesha Idol is Navsacha Ganpati (which means the fulfiller of the wishes) and hence around 1.5 million people or more visit this Ganesh Pandal daily during the 10 day Ganeshotsav festival.

At first a leg of Lalbaugcha Raja is made and a pooja is performed on it as shown in the picture. This Pooja is know as “Paool Pujan” ceremony of the Lalbaugcha Raja.
The “Ganesh Muhurat Poojan” or the “Paool Pujan” ceremony of the Lalbaugcha Raja 2018 Ganeshotsav Pandal will take place somewhere in end of June or 1st week of July in 2018, most likely on 1st July 2018 on the auspicious occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi.
As a part of this pooja an aarti is also recited.
Then that leg is attaches to the idol by the work men as shown in the picture above.
In these two pictures the work men are attaching the hand to the idol.
After attaching all the body parts the work of painters begin as shown in the picture above.
In these two picture the painter is drawing the beautiful eyes and the eye borrows of Lalbaugcha Raja.
Here the painting works ends and the Lalbaugcha Raja is almost ready.
Then comes the turn of the different ornaments, for hands, legs, wrest, shoulders, round the neck , etc.
And then finally we have the idol ready which can be seen below with all the garments and jewels.
