Tirumala Brahmotsavam 2016 Dates, Schedule

Tirumala Brahmotsavam which means Brahma’s Utsav is a Hindu festival. It is celebrated on Tirumala Venkateswara Temple at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh This festival is celebrated for nine days when the sun enters Kanya Rashi from Ashwayuja Shuddha Padyami. Ashwayuja Shuddha Dashami during September and October.

It is believed that Lord Brahma started this festival by worshipping Sri Balaji to thank him for the protection of mankind. He worshiphed Sri Balaji on the banks of the Pushkarini in Tirupati.

Thousands of devotees every year gather to witness this grand Festival, participate in the rituals, and receive the blessings of Sri Venkateswara swami.

For the year 2016, the annual Brahmotsavam at the Tirumala Tirupati Temple will be celebrated from 3rd October to 11th October 2016.

Evening (9 pm to 11 pm) – Hamsa Vahanam

5 October 2016 (Wednesday) – Day 3
Morning (9 am to 11 am) – Simha Vahanam
Evening (9 pm to 11 pm) – Muthyapu Pandiri Vahanam (Muthu Pallaku)

6 October 2016 (Thursday) – Day 4
