When in Rosh Hashanah in 2016

In Hebrew, Rosh Hashanah means, literally, “head of the year” or “first of the year.” It is celebrated as the Jewish New Year.

It is believed to be the anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve, the first man and woman on this earth.

It is a two day celebration which begins on first day of the month of Tishrei, the first month of the Jewish calendar.

Rosh Hashanah 2016 begins in the evening of Sunday, October 2 and ends in the evening of Tuesday, October 4.

Note :

The Jewish calendar date begins at sundown of the night beforehand. Thus all holiday observances begin at sundown on the secular dates listed, with the following day being the first full day of the holiday. Jewish calendar dates conclude at nightfall.
