When is Ramadan 2016, Ramzan Id / Eid-ul-Fitr 2016 Date

In 2016 (Islamic Year 1438 AH), the month of Ramadan will start on 6th June 2016 and will continue for 30 days until  5th of July.

Note that in the Muslim calendar, a holiday begins on the sunset of the previous day, so observing Muslims will celebrate Ramadan on the sunset of Saturday, 4th June 2016.

The date of the beginning of Ramadan change every year and it’s eleven days before than the year before. This date changes also from one country to another one (one day difference) because the moon can’t be seen in some countries if it’s cloudy.

Ramadan is considered to be the holiest month of the Islamic calendar. It is the month in which Muslims stop eating, drinking and getting sex from the sunrise until the sunset. This annual observance is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam.

Fasting for Muslims during Ramadan typically includes the increased offering of salat (prayers) and recitation of the Quran.

It is believed that in the month of Ramadan, Muhammad first received revelations in the lunar month of Ramadan, the recording of which began with the Hijra.

The “Hijra” also known as Hijrat or Hegira, is the migration or journey of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and his followers from Mecca to Medina between June 21st and July 2nd in 622 AD.

Eid ul-Fitr 2016 Date :

Eid ul-Fitr also known as Ramzan Id, marks the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the next lunar month called Shawwal in Arabic. This first day of the following month is declared after another crescent new moon has been sighted or the completion of 30 days of fasting if no visual sighting is possible due to weather conditions.

In 2016 (1438 AH), Eid ul-Fitr / Ramzan Id will be celebrated on 18th July 2016.
